Roof Mounted Light Bar Wind Noise

The wind noise we hear from some roof racks is known as aeolian no ise and is produced by wind when it passes over or through objects.

If the surface the wind passes over has a consistent shape the disturbance becomes tonal and at certain frequencies very annoying. The simple installation process is designed to work with most led light bars and the patented design will virtually eliminate wind noise caused by the airflow passing around the light bar. Wind noise can come from light bars when they are mounted in such a way that wind can blow across the cooling fins on the back of the bar causing noisy vibrations. The best way to get rid of this problem if you must mount your light bar in this position is to purchase some flyscreen spline from a hardware store and press it into the gaps between the fins on the back of the bar.

This is most common on jeep wranglers as the shape of their windscreen makes this a common problem.
